It must be that time of year. We are all yearning for a change of seasons and to usher in the Spring I guess we all decided to change our hair. Yes, I went shorter. When your hair is already short what else do you do for a change? It's either go shorter or get a weave! Ha. So, it is short, spiky, and fun! Love it so far.
Even Bren opted for a fairly big change: blond highlights!! As well as the darker lowlights. I know, it's shocking. Neither of us identify ourselves as blondes in any sort of way, but our stylist must be pretty persuasive...It's fun for a while, but we will probably both go back to our "darker" sides. Brennan just had Sr. portraits done so soon those will be up for view and hopefully in the mail to some of you. :)
I am especially proud of Quinlyn's new 'do! She had 10 inches cut off and donated it to Locks of Love. AND it was totally her decision. One of the little girls she was teammates with last year in softball is battling leukemia. That started our discussion a couple of months ago and then my stylist brought it up to me about a month after that as she had just cut a couple of little girls' hair for that purpose. She asked if I had ever thought about having my girls do it because they have such long, pretty hair. I told her we had recently been discussing it. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, Quin asked me, "Mom, can I do "Locks of Love"? I told her it was up to her and that I had already prepared Dad in case she made that decision (daddies do love long hair). She told me, "Yeah, Mom, I want to. I do." So I added her on to Brennan's appointment. She got a little nervous once she was in the chair and I told her she could still change her mind, but also to remember that it was just hair and it would grow back too. She thought a minute and decided to go through with it. I think it is super cute and such a nice thing to do. It may seem small, but some little girl will be so happy to have that hair-piece/wig (unsure of proper term), and it was a sacrifice for Q. That night she told me she didn't know if she would be able to sleep because her "new" hair was hurting her neck. I just smiled and told her how proud I was of her and that it would feel weird for a while, but that she would get used to it. She was so excited that afternoon to show her big brother and daddy. So cute! Good job Quinny!!
