We had a SUPER July 4th! We thought it might not be that fun because all the boating docks were SO crowded, but it actually turned out being great. We put the boat and jet-skis in at the Cal-Ranch dock and then just took off down river. With our bigger boat and the two skis, we could take everyone and it was so fun to get away from everyone and do whatever we wanted. We could go way down where no one else was. We found a big, rock island that had a ladder so you could climb up and jump off. Brother-in-law Burke tried it out and then his 8 yr. old, Bridger got brave and also took the plunge. There was no sitting around on the grass and waiting for someone to want to do something: everyone that wanted to got to tube and then we broke out the wakeboards.
Yes! I was excited I could still manage to get up after such a long, cold winter and spring AND part of the summer. Then we got out the little skis and we got a bunch of the younger generation to try them out. They all did great and were so BRAVE to try. Wyatt, 10; Quinlyn and Bridger, 8; and even little Josie, 6 all gave it a go! AND they just skied and skied and skied.
We ended towing Bridger all the way back to the dock on the last ride of the evening.
The only downside was that Connor was not feeling very well, so he didn't get to wakeboard. But he was such a good sport--he encouraged everyone and took many of the pictures. Sorry you missed out, buddy, but next time you're the star of the photos!
