Today, after we dropped Ro at Kindergarten, Gage and I went to see Daddy at the hospital. After that, I took him to Taco Bandido. I got a Taco Salad for Brennan and myself and asked him if he wanted a slushie or a corn dog. He wasn't sure about the corn dog but he DID want a "flushie". Sound appetizing? Yeah, he also wanted green. Evidently they don't have a bright green color because when it arrived it was a sort of "pee" green. Perfect for a "flushie", I guess. I smiled all the way home. I love that kid. Oh, and by the way, tonight we are also going to Connor's first "flootball game" :) Wish him luck.
Also, that brings up the Great Hamburger Debate of '09. I've been meaning to write about it. It was still cold so it was February or March. Gage and I picked Rowan up from dance class. It must have been a Tuesday because last school year that was my crazy day--where I went from the gym straight to drop Ro off @ dance class, then picked her up, changed her clothes again, found her some lunch, and dropped her off at Preschool. Well, on this day, I wasn't prepared with her lunch on hand so I asked her if she'd like a hamburger. She told me yes she absolutely would. This set off the debate. From the back of the car Gage says, "Yeah, yeah I want a han-ga-mer too." Me, "Ok, buddy, you can have one too." Then I hear, "No, Gage not a han-ga-mer a han-ga-bur." Well, I am in the front seat amused and yet a little perplexed because I can't quite figure out what her objection is to his request. So I asked her what he was saying wrong, and assured her that yes, he could also have a hamburger if he wanted one. She said, "Mom, he is saying han-ga-mer. Murr, murr. And it is han-ga-bur. Burr, burr." Now, I am really trying to keep a straight face as I say, "Yeah, that's kind of a hard word to say isn't it?" She agreed. And then as we're pulling out of the parking space I hear, in her best 4 year-old going on teenager voice, Rowan say, "Gosh, Gage, you really need to learn how to talk right." HILARIOUS.
